It's a Beautiful Day to (wear a mask) Save Lives
Sooooo Patrick Dempsey wearing a mask with the caption "It's a Beautiful Day to Save Lives" has been hands down my favorite post of COVID so far.
SWOON.
I've been getting a lot of questions about skincare products to combat wearing a mask all day.
…….
I work from home, don’t have a lot of friends that I see in person, get our groceries delivered, and haven’t traveled so I don’t have to wear a mask generally for more than a few minutes at a time (running into a store, at an appointment, etc.)
But if you’re wearing a mask all day and it’s taking a bit of a toll on your skin here are some recommendations from others that have had success!
…….
If you’ve found something that works for you, feel free to share it below as well!
CLEANSING BALM
"Lotus balm has helped a couple of my girls so much!”
“Balm is good for the nose area where the mask sits. The mask usually rubs and irritates my nose. I have switched to using Countercontrol. It has helped me a lot with breakouts. I also stopped wearing makeup on the bottom half of my face lol”
SWITCH UP YOUR MOISTURIZER
“My sister wears a mask daily! for her switching her moisturizer to the Countercontrol Matte Gel has helped a bunch and then she added the all-bright c serum for some extra help!”
ALL BRIGHT C SERUM
“VITAMIN C!!!! Tumeric in it helps fight acne and scarring.”
“I swear by vitamin c”
“I’m a nurse and have to wear a mask for my entire 12 hour shift and started having major breakouts and noticed my skin was a lot more sensitive. I’ve been using countermatch but adding in the All bright C serum and just wearing the tinted moisturizer and that has helped a lot. I’m also very thankful for the Countercontrol acne spot treatment to take care of any little breakouts I have!”
“Yes wearing a mask allll day at the hospital is ruining my chin but I have found the vitamin c serum has helped as well as doing an extra night of the peel per week!!”
“I wear a mask (N95 most of the day, level 3 otherwise) and I have actually found my fave is super dry! I can’t wear makeup bc it affects the seal of the N95... so maybe that’s why I haven’t had breakouts? But I have been doing a nightly peel, with my Countertime and daily I wear countermatch with the vitamin c. I have had a few girls at work try the same regimen and it really helps!”
WASH UP.
“I never have breakouts. But I have to wear a mask at work. My face has been insane. I’ve started using counter control and don’t notice any new acne.
Wash, all over acne, matte gel cream for day time
Wash , charcoal mask, all over acne, CounterStart moisturizer.
I’ll alternate the mask and peel but I don’t use the all over acne with the peel”
MASK FIGHTS MASKNE
“I’ve always used the Countercontrol line anyways, but I started adding in the charcoal bar and use it right when I get home from the hospital. I always make sure to use the charcoal mask after a run of shifts. Still occasionally get some acne but nothing extreme.”

Thanks for wearing a mask and staying safe.
