Week 2: Burpees & SUP
That’s a wrap on week 2!
I hated all of the burpees, they are still the worst. They did however, prepare me well for stand-up paddle boarding and being able to pop up into a standing position more confidently. I did hundreds of burpees over the course of the week, working them into workouts as often as I could. I wish I could say that I got better at them, or that they got easier, but they didn’t.
Stand-up paddle boarding is totally my happy place. I love being in the ocean and it’s a really solid, yet peaceful workout.
Lessons learned:
engage your core as much as possible in both burpees and SUP
it helps to come down to your knees when you start to approach the shore so the waves don’t take you out
There were times with the wind where I felt like I wasn’t getting anywhere and there were also times when I felt like I was flying. The wind really impacts how you glide across the water.
