Packing light: makeup & skincare
“You don’t need magic to disappear, all you need is a destination.” ✈️
I’ve gotten pretty good at packing and traveling light because we always carry-on our bags. Makeup and beauty products can take up a lot of space when you travel so I thought I’d share what my “travel-light” makeup bag looks like.
This tiny bag is full of everything I need for a week away and everything is #saferbeauty.
Volumizing mascara
My go-to Beautycounter mascara, lightweight and easy to wear
Toms deodorant
I have been on the hunt for a natural deodorant for years. I had tried Toms before and always thought I hated it. Turns out, it was becuase I wasn’t letting myself through the detox process (it’s real!) and I would still steal some of my husbands deodorant now and then before working out. Doing that, was messing up my entire process of switching to a safer alternative of deodorant. Once I went cold-turkey and stopped borrowing his, eventually, my body detoxed and I started to love Toms. Whatever brand you use, make sure you give your body time to detox. More on that here.
Cream eye shadow
Cleansing balm (the tiniest container of cleansing balm is what I use to wash my face all week)
Beautycounter magic product: mask, cleanser, moisturizer, eye makeup remover
I love it for travel becuase it can do so many things and now it’s available in an even smaller size!
Dew skin tinted moisturizer
I always travel with this becuase I love the SPF and the way it gives me a glow
No.2 Plumping Oil (for before bed if I need a little extra moisture)
Lightweight and silky smooth, this proprietary blend of seven natural oils moisturizes, nourishes, and helps firm skin. Fragrant jasmine oil replenishes moisture, while omega-rich argan oil helps minimize the appearance of fine lines. Perfect for all skin types, especially those concerned with dry skin, loss of elasticity, and fine lines.
Sunscreen skin stick (everyone needs this, so great for running - the small size fits in any purse or fannypack)
Always carry this around to quickly swipe on my face or to cover a tattoo to protect from the sun. #MUSTHAVE
Lip gloss
The mini’s are so perfect for travel!
Lip sheer
Touch up Skin Concealer Pen
Overnight resurfacing peel (I took 2 pumps with me in a tiny sample container)
The peel is magical and I can’t say enough good things about it! Goodnight, dullness. Good morning, glow. A proprietary blend of over 15 acids in this AHA/BHA peel clears away dull surface cells and improves skin texture – without irritation or over-drying.
Mini scrunchie (my friend got me hooked on these, they are easier on your hair)
