Week 21: Orange Theory Fitness

& why we need to change the way we talk about fitness 

A few reflections and things I’ve learned after 21 weeks of #fitforsevens. (#fitforsevens is my 2019 challenge to myself to try a new kind of fitness each week of the year)

1. We need to reframe the way we talk about fitness, as only for weight loss. There are SO MANY BENEFITS TO FITNESS THAT EXISTS OTHER THAN A WEIGHT LOSS GOAL.

2. Trying a new fitness regimen, or walking into a new gym IS SCARY. It takes bravery. Let’s be kind to one another and celebrate that risk.

3. There are so many kinds of fitness out there. It’s all about finding what makes you feel good.

I still welcome all of your suggestions and ideas for things you think I should try! Or bring me along with you to your favorite gym!

Week 21 (Orange Theory Fitness) was my first negative week of this challenge. I was so excited to learn more and try OTF but unfortunately I did not find the environment to be welcoming. I was never able to do my free class.
